Canonmills Gardens // Property Tour Video Scotland

We were commissioned to film a property tour video for the new development at Canonmills Gardens for Artisan. What started as one film, for their website, then branched out to include a further standard property tour video for use on Savills, RightMove, ESPC and more.

The Process

We were commissioned through Digiology Marketing to deliver a video for Artisan Real Estate, profiling their new development at Canonmills Gardens. Built on a the structure of a scripted voiceover, written and delivered by Scotsman Property Editor, Kirsty McLuckie we filmed a mix of wide, architectural and tighter detail shots to pick up on the elements within the show home.

To make the process simpler, we hired in an autocue prompter to help Kirsty deliver the lines straight to camera. The only slight stumbling block during this period was having to shut down the entire building site temporarily to avoid any noise interfering with the audio.

Piece to camera in the bag it was then a process of just walking around the rooms shooting the b-roll of the property tour video. Being a showhome, we were especially careful to store our kit in the utility room, remove shoes walking around, and avoid our kit touching any walls.

We graded the property tour video to accentuate the warmth of the home setting and inspire the sense of hygge in the property.

After completing the initial video, we were then commissioned to create a further film to sit on the major property sites such as Savills, ESPC, Right Move and others. To achieve the look of the more functional property tour video that one would expect from an estate agent site, we used the 14mm Samyang lens to catch the full aspect of the property, filming slow pans from each corner along with gimbal shots moving through the property as an occupant would.

Video has always been key for property sales, but in the time of Covid, it is paramount. Prospective clients can now virtually walk though the home they are considering buying without any need for human contact.
